Harmony Play Therapy

I'm a Masters Trained Play Therapist here to support children with big emotions and big behaviours through the power of therapy using play.
Harmony Play therapy offers a gentle, developmentally appropriate way for children to explore feelings, make sense of their experiences, and build confidence.
Because it doesn’t rely on talking, it’s especially helpful for children who find it hard to express themselves with words, helping them feel more settled emotionally, behaviourally, and in their relationships.
Play Therapy is helpful for children experiencing big emotions and big behaviours, neurodivergence, or trauma.

Distinguished and Famous people from Murray Region South

⚙️ John Furphy

John Furphy established his forge at Shepparton in 1873 and developed a manufacturing business supplying agricultural equipment. His water carts became especially familiar through their use by the Australian army during the First World War. Gossip exchanged around the carts helped turn the family name into an Australian word for an unreliable story. The manufacturer himself was a serious-minded Methodist and community figure; even his cart ends carried moral advice. It is a curious linguistic afterlife for practical engineering: a business built to carry water ended up lending its name to talk that would not necessarily hold any.

📚 Joseph Furphy

Joseph Furphy worked at his brother John’s Shepparton foundry from 1884 while developing the writing that became Such is Life. Published in 1903 under the name Tom Collins, the novel drew on his knowledge of rural work and people, turning apparently rambling recollections into an intricate literary undertaking. State Library Victoria records the Shepparton house where he wrote. The town therefore holds two quite different Furphy stories: one brother made useful equipment, while the other made a demanding and enduring book. Both involved work done close to the Goulburn River within Victoria’s wider Murray region.

⛴️ Henry Hopwood

Henry Hopwood helped build the commercial beginnings of Echuca after an earlier life that included transportation to Tasmania. In 1853 he obtained a licence to occupy land between the Murray and Campaspe rivers, then developed a hotel and river crossing. Livestock moving between New South Wales and Victorian markets made the location valuable. A punt and later a pontoon bridge turned that geography into a business. The settlement became known as Hopwood’s Ferry before growing into Echuca. His story shows how accommodation, transport and a well-chosen crossing could reinforce one another in a developing river town.
